Books of Condolence opened after death of Cllr David Greenhalgh
BOOKS of condolence have being opened as tributes continue to pour in for Bolton Council leader Cllr David Greenhalgh.
People are invited to pay their own personal tribute to the “much-loved local son and a fearless champion for the town†by leaving a message in person or in an online book of condolence.
Cllr Greenhalgh died at the age of 53 on Thursday, leaving the people of Bolton shocked and saddened.
The flag at Bolton Town Hall was lowered to half mast as a sign of respect as his death was announced.
A spokesman for Bolton Council said: "Following the very sad news that Council Leader, Cllr David Greenhalgh, has passed away, Books of Condolence have been opened in several locations across Bolton, for residents to write personal messages."
The Books of Condolence have been placed in the following locations:
Bromley Cross Coop store
7am 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 7.45pm Sunday
Bolton Parish Church
Central Library
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 9am to 7.30pm, Wednesday 9.30am 5.30pm, Friday 9am â€" 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm
An online Book of Condolence has also been opened and will be available at https://www.bolton.gov.uk/book_of_condolence
