Bolton Wanderers Xavier Amaechi will be involved against Crewe
WANDERERS boss Ian Evatt has confirmed on-loan winger Xavier Amaechi will be involved against Crewe Alexandra on Friday night.
Amaechi â" who has represented England at Under-20 level - joined the Whites on loan from German side Hamburg over the summer.
However, the former Arsenal youngster is yet to make his competitive debut after suffering a fractured metatarsal in a pre-season friendly against Preston.
Evatt is delighted to have Amaechi back in contention and praised the winger for his hard work over the past few months.
âWeâre getting people back all the time,â said the Bolton boss. âObviously, we have to be patient â" especially the ones who have been out for a significant period.
âXav Amaechi, heâll be involved tomorrow night. Heâs looked razor sharp in training and itâs refreshing to have him back.â
âIâm pleased for Xav and Iâm pleased for myself as well because he was a real key signing in the summer and someone we were very excited about, someone we worked extremely hard to get in.
âItâs not easy signing players from European clubs, we put a lot of hard work into it and for him to get injured in pre-season was a big blow to everybody.
âBut having said that, his rehabilitation and his focus and drive to get himself back earlier than what we thought, and to get himself fit enough to do himself justice in training sessions and be ready to play so soon is a credit to him.â
Evatt also says Amadou Bakayoko is back to his best after coming off the bench against Stockport last weekend.
The forward has had a challenging start to his Bolton career following a couple of ankle injuries.
Evatt added: âBaka has looked razor sharp in training this week, heâs looked back to the player we had in pre-season and at the start of the season.
âSince then, heâs struggled with injuries and weâve hardly had him in one piece.
âBoth of them are like new signings and itâs good for us in those forward areas to have competitions.â
Evatt also revealed that Josh Sheehan and Declan John are both available for Friday nightâs game.
Sheehan missed the Stockport game due to a back injury while John was taken at half time due to chest pains, having suffered with illness in the build-up.
âDeclan has got over his illness, which is great,â said Evatt. âAnd Josh Sheehanâs back has recovered in time for the game tomorrow.
âI must say a big thank you to Wales, we obviously communicated with them and they allowed us to keep him with us, so credit to them because Josh is an important player with us.â
